The FLAMENCA Records team are giving double energy this Friday, as label boss STBAN drops a free remix of Rosalía’s ‘Reliquia’, and MAD Club founder Igor Blaska makes his FLAMENCA debut with his new single ‘Timbaleros’.
As the name suggests, ‘Timbaleros’ is an unadulterated celebration of percussion and rhythm, referring to musicians who play the shallow “timbales” drums heard throughout Latin music at the limit of ‘samba’ vibes. The cut is an uplifting, energetic slice of rhythmic production, Blasko peppering his beats with infectious trumpets and driving, flamenco-inspired melodic runs in electronic moves.
Shot on location across Wynwood and Calle Oche, the track’s official video celebrates the vibrant Latin community that forms the heartbeat of downtown Miami. It may be a world away from the colder climes of MAD Club’s Swiss setting but the heat and energy of ‘Timbaleros’ is something FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN has experienced many times on the venue’s iconic dance floor.
“MAD Club has been like a second home to me,” FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN said, “so to have Igor bring his music into the FLAMENCA family is a real treat and something I’ve been looking forward to releasing. We’re steadily building the label into a real home for music inspired by Spanish culture and ‘Timbaleros’ absolutely falls into that category. I’ve been playing it out for a while now and the reaction from the dance floor is always huge. Big thanks to Igor for trusting us with his work.”
STBAN himself closed off 2025 with a surprise dance floor reworking of Rosalía single ‘Dios Es Un Stalker’, taken from the Spanish superstar’s critically acclaimed long player ‘LUX’. As 2026 gets fully underway the FLAMENCA Records boss returns with his second take on her work, this time taking her ‘Reliquia’ track to task.
The original single is a dreamy, delicate, deft composition, Rosalía’s vocal floating like air across an equally light instrumentation, dipping and diving between shuddering pizzicato and smoother, more sweeping sections. STBAN takes the ethereal essence of the artist’s top line but immerses it inside a much darker, dance floor friendly groove. Warm pianos replace the sweeping strings, soft snares deliver a sense of staccato. Undulating rhythm and synth segments slowly build to give the entire edit a sense of club-orientated dynamism, Rosalía’s vocal lacing everything effortlessly together.
“I simply can’t stop listening to ‘LUX’,” STBAN admitted from his studios in Lausanne, Switzerland. “Everything Rosalía does on the album excites me musically. I want to take her music onto the dance floor, to share it with my audience during my sets, to see and feel their reaction when they hear her vocal, when they recognise her work. ‘Reliquia’ is such a light track, it has such a delicate touch to the production and it was incredibly important to keep that while still giving the edit the kind of dark edge it needs to sustain energy when you’re in the middle of a club set.”
