STBAN ignites the dancefloor with ‘Ibiza Jaleo’, a fiery fusion of Flamenco tradition and modern house energy.
After opening up his imprint to Cuban stars PAUZA and Spanish talent Crusy, FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN steps back into the spotlight with his latest original single, ‘Ibiza Jaleo’.
A sizzling slice of Flamenco-Latin House, ‘Ibiza Jaleo’ brims with Mediterranean heat, a love letter to the roots of traditional Iberian culture reimagined through an electronic lens. Opening with Spanish guitars, the track undulates through chugging basslines and syncopated ‘la palma’, the fierce, relentless hand clapping that gives the single its unique, dynamic pace. Negating the need to fill the space with vocals, STBAN instead allows the instrumentation to sing, a light touch of electronic synth and keyboard lines underpinning the acoustic elements. It’s a dreamy combination that gifts dancers on the club floor music to move to.
“For me dancing is an emotion, rhythm and heart beating” STBAN said. “Dancing is the best way you can express that emotion you feel in the music. When we create and produce music, we always have in mind the rhythm, how it will connect with the people dancing to our songs.”
Launched in June this year and distributed through iconic imprint Toolroom Records, FLAMENCA Records is already making waves across the world of electronic music. Releasing tracks ‘La Palma’, ‘Plaza de Gloria’ and ‘Baila Conmigo’ and with further new edits from the likes of James Hurr, Qubiko, Jesus Fernandez and Kevin McKay, the label has swiftly captured the attention of fans and media alike, with We Rave You, CULTR, EDM Nomad, EDM House Network and more picking up on its rise. Taking his FLAMENCA Live show to Airbeat One Festival, World Club Dome, TANTRA in Ibiza, Montreux Jazz Festival and MAD Club in Lausanne, STBAN’s mission to elevate the sound of Flamenco House to a wider global audience is clearly working.
