If you’ve ever felt the need to “Turn on, tune in, drop out” as Timothy Leary once iconically said at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Bicycle Day SF may peek your interest. For nearly a decade, Bicycle Day SF has fostered community and connection in the San Francisco and greater Bay Area with their unique annual art & music festival. In celebration of the “Good Doctor” Albert Hofmann, his invention of LSD and his infamous bike ride home after intentionally ingesting the substance – Bicycle Day SF was born. Bicycle Day SF will take place on Tuesday, April 19th at the Midway in San Francisco.
The celebration will be an all day event with day and evening programming. For the first time, Bicycle Day SF is offering day programming with a film screening of filmmaker Seth Ferranti’s latest documentary, “Psychedelic Revolution: The Secret History of the LSD Trade” followed by an interactive panel of leading experts in the fields of activism, research, the arts, and decriminalization. The speaker panel will include many familiar names in the world of psychedelics including medicinal chemist and creator and director of Vice’s Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia Hamilton Morris, Leonard Pickard, Isaac Abrams, Rhoney Stanley, Timothy Tyler, Seth Ferranti, Mark McCloud, Mountain Girl, Ryan Jay Beauregard, and Madison Margolin.
While, the evening programming will celebrate all things art and music with the art experience led by Microdose VR and Johnathan Singer. The dancing will begin as DJs hit the decks with artists, Häana, Axel Thesleff, Desert Dwellers, and headliner Emanciaptor take the stage. Expect a wild night of celebration and education on all things psychedelia. Get your day and evening passes on the official Bicycle Day SF website!
