With ‘Rufio’s Theme’ still doing the rounds, the highly revered GANZ is on hand with the rest of his Lost Boys EP. Landing via UZ’s trap and future bass label Quality Goods Records, there are five more uplifting tunes to soak up – and it’s a project that has been personally fulfilling for the artist.
He shares a bit about his journey as a producer, saying: “I’ve learned to take more risks, sound-wise. I’ve tried a lot of different sounds and directions – of which a lot didn’t make me happy and didn’t feel like ‘me.’ This made me realise I needed to stay more close to myself, search for the next version of my sound and purely focus on the feeling I get when working on new music.”
This authenticity rings clear within Lost Boys. Immediately engaging and satisfying is opening cut ‘UGH!’ and it acts as the perfect interlude to the instrumental-led ‘Rufio’s Theme.’ We really enjoy the sharp touches of ‘Thud Butt,’ before ‘No Naps’ and ‘Fairy Dust’ offer further creativity and striking attention to detail. Finishing up the EP’s title track, and it moves with fluidity and raw musicality.
