ANIMÁL A Place In The Sun – Brooklyn-based duo ANIMÁL broke into the alternative-electronic landscape with their debut track “Let Me Down,” the lead single to their forthcoming album Flight co-produced by pluko.
Forging a bridge between indie-rock and modern dance music, ANIMÁL is likened to the pioneering sounds of RATATAT and Explosions In The Sky. Their debut single “Let Me Down,” premiered by ThisSongIsSick garnered the attention of live-electronic music fans across the nation. The duo’s musical pendulum swings between edgy electric-guitar melodies, breezy digital synths, and carefully selected vocal samples. A mirage of dance music and poetic alternative-rock, the free-flowing nature of their signature style is born from the meticulous fusion of two genres. Following the well-received release of “Let Me Down,” ANIMÁL unveils “A Place In The Sun,” the sophomore single to Flight. Another impressive installation off of the LP, ANIMÁL’s second single further solidifies the tandem’s compositional skills that soar far beyond the means of mainstream EDM.
“This is the last track off our upcoming album Flight. We wrote it with the intention of it closing out the record – it builds a sort of energy and emotion that just kind of fit the project. It also represents a turning point for us from a songwriting perspective. When we heard it for the first time the project made a lot more sense and provided a solid bookend for us to work with. It combines the electronic, orchestral and rock influences that are scattered throughout the rest of our music. It’s a bit of an odd song to release on its own without the context of the entire album, but we just like the track so thought why not?” – ANIMÁL
