Since its founding late last year, Be Interactive has become a lightning rod for music lovers looking to do more good in the world. In less than one year they’ve helped raise money for social projects run by Bassnectar‘s volunteers and community, collected 2500 meals for a local food bank and 3000 items of winter clothing for those in need during Bassnectar‘s NYE360 event in Greensboro, North Carolina, organized a cleanup to pick up 560 lbs of trash from a World Heritage Site, collected backpacks and hundreds of school supplies, raised money for music education and offset the carbon emissions from all flights for Bassnectar‘s Deja Voom event in Mexico.
The Be Interactive team also produced the Bass Center Song Election in Hampton, VA, to look at the impact of the Electoral College on our voting rights and exploring alternatives in collaboration with the Bassnectar production. Throughout the year, Be Interactive partnered with HeadCount, To Write Love On Her Arms, Conscious Alliance, Students for Sensible Drug Policy and more to represent a wide range of activism and engagement both online and at Bassnectar events.
In addition to the Nashville fundraiser, Be Interactive has a busy summer ahead. The nonprofit is about to award $10,000 in environmental grants, and will be hosting the Born Botanical Action Day in Denver, Colorado on June 8th, in collaboration with Bassnectar, Michael Franti, The Permaculture Action Network and Frontline Farming. At the Born Botanical Action Day, fans will come together with urban farmers to convert a 2 acre site into a food oasis.
