Baajewala has just served up the Hell Raiden EP for Quality Goods Records. Rolling out of the innovative label this week and already turning heads, the producer ensures focus stays firmly on him with this set of five sounds.
Starting out on YouTube showcasing his instrumental covers, Baajewala has come a long way since then – beginning to carve out a unique, Bollywood inspired approach to trap music. Landing a spot on the UZ The Rebirth (Remixes) LP, he sounds at home on the platform.
Out of the EP, it is ‘Pyaar’ and ‘Mixed Emotions’ that particularly command attention from us. The first streams out a haunting, melodic introduction before a quick switch up into heavier territory. ‘Mixed Emotions’ follows with a pacy theme – sharp hits of drums and eclectic sampling.
Baajewala says of his project:
“This EP is the story of how a small town kid turned his biggest failures and heartbreaks into his weapon of mass destruction. UZ and QGR have been so incredibly supportive throughout the entire writing process, guiding me from an amateur bedroom producer to a confident professional. They’ve opened so many doors for me and have also put a spotlight on the Indian bass scene as well. Never in my life would I have imagined of releasing with sub a big label like QGR, but hey, dreams do come true!”
