Still only aged nineteen, the sounds that come from the studio of Maybon continue to amaze. With a penchant for creating melodically driven vocal tunes, he works his latest single ‘Lover’ this week.
It proves impossible to ignore with its sleek hooks and future-leaning structure. Maybon then cleverly layers over a pop-y vocal to create light frissons of texture – it really works well together.
The Norwegian says of the track: “I’m really proud of ‘Lover’. It’s a song I’ve been working on for over a year and it’s evolved completely during that time. It’s my version of a classic love song and I made it with my generation in mind. It represents my style and my evolution as an artist, I hope you love it as much as I do!”
