Alltag is on hand to speak to us about how he put together his most recent single ‘Where Have You Been,’ plus what inspires him as an artist.
Thanks for taking the time to speak to us! How long have you been making music for?
I started making music when I was 15 years old. It has been 7 years now. At first it was just for fun, then I started getting many good reviews and I started producing more and more tracks, releasing them on SoundCloud and getting positive attention.
How do you feel your sound and influences have changed along the way, and are they constantly evolving?
My style of music has not changed along the way. I always continue to improve my sound, all the time, which makes my audience enjoy my music even more.
What would you say your style is all about?
My style is mainly all about future and deep house. When I’m playing at a club, I also play stuff similar to tech house. But mostly I appreciate and take joy in the festival-sound, that type of music.
Which tunes are you particularly feeling right now?
The track Im particularly impressed with and taking pleasure in right now is Wilkinson – ‘Wash Away.’ It has the most spiritual and distinctive chords I’ve ever listened to, which I really admire. This track gives listeners good vibes whilst listening to the synths.
What did you enjoy about making your new single? What inspired it?
It was inspired by the guitar sample of the original track. This track started giving me many creative ideas so I then started making a new deep house track out of it. The track is filled with good vibes that put people in a happy mood.
What have been the most fun parts of the year so far for you?
The most exciting time of the year I experienced, as a DJ, was when I played in a club with Junge Junge and Drumcomplex. It was an experience so early in my music career I certainly will never forget.
If you could give a producer just starting out one piece of advice, what would it be?
Always follow your feel for the music and make it truly yours. Always make sure you enjoy your sound. You will learn from your mistakes and you will become better from your mistakes.
What do you most want to achieve this year, and why?
I want people from all over the world to listen to my sound. I want the people to understand my sound, to understand why I’m producing this kind of music. I also want the people to understand why I’m using the synths I chose for my tracks, and I want the people to be able to make a personal connections with the music.
