Wax Motif – Forsaken EP – Australian producer Wax Motif has established himself as one of the most prominent players in the modern electronic music scene thanks to chart topping originals and his role as one of the creators of the G House sound. Citing influences from R&B, Disco and UK bass, the producer’s releases have found a welcome home on some of dance music’s most influential labels including Diplo‘s Mad Decent, A-Trak‘s Fool’s Gold, Tchami‘s Confession label, and Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak Records.
Wax Motif continues his streak with a brand new EP via AC Slater‘s label Night Bass. His new Forsaken EP relishes in the artist’s penchant for the sound of UK bass. Kicking off with title track ‘Forsaken,’ the producer delves into a pulsating rhythm that is almost as foreboding as the track’s menacing vocal samples. Next up, Wax Motif teams up with Brazilian producer Ricci on ‘Mental.’ A bit of a departure from ‘Forsaken,’ ‘Mental‘ is a deeper bass cut that takes clear influence from the thriving G House genre Wax Motif made famous.
