Having only recently released a sparkling radio edit of his single ‘Good Vibes,’ we got in touch with innovative producer PLS&TY. Read on to hear more about the track, and how he has developed into the artist he is today.

Thanks for speaking to us! Do you remember what first got you into making music? How do you feel your sound and influences have changed along the way?

My passion for electronic dance music grew throughout high school. At the time I was incredibly passionate about filmmaking as well, and I was eager to combine these interests. I picked up jobs at local venues photographing and filming electronic acts that would pass through on tour. Filming these acts and working with notable dance music artists was a great introduction to the world of live performance and everything that it entails. Nonetheless, my transition into music production seemed to flow seamlessly as my obsession with this style of music continuously grew. Eventually, I had to try a hand at music production myself.
I don’t exactly feel that my sound and influences have changed. I feel that since artists with similar sounds and style are the artists that I became so passionate about (Wave Racer, Flume, Lido), naturally my sound began to take shape from their music as inspiration.

What would you say your style is all about?

My music is often characterised as ‘Future,’ ‘Chill’ or ‘Forward Thinking’. Synths are the prominent force.

Which tunes are you particularly feeling right now?

Alexander Lewis – ‘Off Guard’ and King Henry – ‘I’ll Be There’

What did you enjoy about making your new radio edit of ‘Good Vibes’? What made you decide to make a fresh version?

After signing ‘Good Vibes’ with Universal Music, I wanted to take another stab at enhancing the original production, bringing my fans something fresh with the re-release. I enjoyed finding the areas where additional production could be implemented.

How has it gone down with fans so far? If anyone could remix it for you, whom would you choose?

The song has been very well received! It has gone #1 on iTunes Electronic charts in Russia, #4 on iTunes Electronic charts in U.K., as well as entered the Viral charts on Spotify in Germany, Poland, and The Netherlands in the first week of release.

What have been the most fun parts of the year for you?

Traveling, as it never fails to inspire me. Seeing new places, meeting new people, trying new things… it’s newness that sanctions growth and inspiration for me in every aspect of life.

What advice would you give a producer just starting out?

The most important piece of advice that I could give involves believing in oneself. Believe in yourself. Believe in what makes you unique. I promise others will, too.

What are you looking forward to achieving in 2018?

I look forward to upcoming music releases, as well as new touring potential in 2018.
