It would almost be too easy to let the story of Jane XØ overshadow her music which, ironically, was created to draw focus purely to the music itself regardless of the image of the person behind it. Having retained such anonymity since her emergence last year, ‘Let Me Down Easy’ is the progression of her musical journey that began with a name and a mysterious SoundCloud account.
To’ing and fro’ing between laid-back subtlety and danceable melodies, coupled with an amazing singing voice, Jane XØ lays bare on the track. Whoever she may be – and we’re curious to know – as long as the music is this good, we don’t mind not being in on the secret yet.
