‘Drift‘ is a huge statement coming from Russ going in to the new year. The production is encompassed by an ominous tone that is filled with pounding drums and an immaculate sound-design all layered with the poetic vocals from Iris Gold. Singing with emotion and an internal fight between herself and another, Gold provides memorable lines such as “shoulders holding boulders” and the repetition of “don’t pose, me froze, breath in” that just chill and ring in your ear. ‘Drift‘ is a fine example on how to captivate your audience.
