Lido – ‘Everything‘ – 23-year-old Norwegian singer, songwriter and producer Lido has just recently released his long-awaited debut LP, Everything, through Because Music. The album combines jazz, hip-hop and trap with vocal melodies and emotional gripping chords that create complex electronic compositions that are designed to amaze. Frequently described as “genre-defying,” this album continues to showcase Lido‘s compelling ability to create forward-thinking, timeless music.
The break-up inspired Everything is an electronic journey through the emotions. Standout single, ‘Murder,’ lulls the listener into its playful production teeming with raw vocals and twisting itself into a perfect storm of bass and boom. The emotional ‘Dye‘ see’s Lido showcase his singing prowess, melting an emotive R&B-style ballad into bouncy synths and pulsing kicks with ease. Lead single ‘Crazy,’ sampling Blackstreet‘s ‘Don’t Leave Me‘ with its epic chorus also sung by Lido, is a masterpiece where colorfully layered vocals soar over galactic chords. Everything is boundless and executed with precision.
In the past year, Lido has embarked on a sold-out US tour, debuted Everything at Coachella, contributed to Chance the Rapper‘s acclaimed Coloring Book, produced for A$AP Ferg, while also executive producing Halsey‘s Badlands album. He’ll also be hitting the road this winter kicking off his US tour in San Francisco at the Herbst Theater on November 2nd. With the debut of Everything, Lido has cohesively presented his excellence and leaves us anxiously awaiting what’s next.
