The world’s biggest music summit, International Music Summit, in partnership with Budweiser STORM Festival, has announced the first round of speakers and initial programming details for the third IMS Asia-Pacific, taking place Sept 29th through the 30th in Shanghai, China at the Hyatt on the Bund. IMS will gather global artists, thought-leaders and industry figureheads to explore the growing influence of electronic music and the issues, challenges and opportunities that face the industry globally and in Asia. 2016’s IMS Asian market focus will be Japan.
Originally founded by Pete Tong, The Ibiza International Music Summit, is considered one of the most important gatherings for the music industry. IMS is a platform for labels, agents, managers and brands to debate, announce and explain new initiatives and strategies music to the industry. A forum for music technology collaboration and creation, this is where the biggest minds in music come together to create new dance music apps, exclusive remixes, and music technology trials. IMS also showcases opportunities for the newest breakthrough artists and record labels. Past attendees have consisted of a variety of people and companies, such as Google, Spotify, Twitter, BBC Radio 1, Beatport, Soundcloud, David Guetta, Skream and many more.
This year’s conference will again feature a wide variety of artists, thought leaders, and figureheads in the industry. The first round of speakers consist of Skrillex, Pete Tong, Alesso, Tim Smith, Lee Anderson, Blaise DeAngelo, Jolin Tsai, DJ Nakadia, Chace and more. World Renowned artist, Skrillex, will share how he is building his profile in Asia. Skrillex will also bring his Meet Team OWSLA session to IMS which includes some of the key players behind the success of Skrillex and his OWSLA imprint; Tim Smith (Manager), Lee Anderson (Agent) & Blaise DeAngelo (OWSLA GM). The panel will discuss the strategies, successes and challenges of taking their sound and style across Asia-Pacific. Key topics include: recording in Korea, the influence of Japan, synchs with Chinese film studios, touring strategy for south east Asia and much more.
