A Few Words with Kivrak
Q: What is the creative process that you go through to hand pick the tracks that are featured in your show?
When DJ’s create their playlists, the most important aspect is providing uniqueness, because the EDM audience always want to listen to something new and different. Everyday, thousands of tracks are produced and we know many of them are just copy and pastes of each other.
Electronic dance music and it’s sounds are changing. If we compare tracks produced now with the ones released five or seven years ago, we can easily realize the freedom of style in tracks these days. This freedom makes a track unique. This is the most important criteria to me.
In my episodes, a clean mix is a must, freedom to express style is a necessity, and clear intro and outro parts for individual tracks are important for easily syncing tracks with each other when switching between them in the mix.
Q: What are your personal favorite genres in electronic dance music?
With no doubt, my favorite genres are electro house, future house & progressive house
Q: In terms of producing and being a DJ, what was your earlier career like with electronic dance music?
As a producer, I already had an old background in the industry since my childhood. In the past I was producing soundtracks, jingles, and beats for various artists and genres. I also used to record my own sets. I was a trance listener as well.
In 2012 I started mixing electronic dance music. When I felt I was ready, I launched Envision Recordings in 2015, which is now one of the most successful record labels of South Europe. I also started my own artist career as an EDM artist with my new alias, Kivrak. I’ve played in many events, clubs, and now I’ve started recording episodes for Envision Recordings‘ very own, Envision Radio show.
Q: What is the road ahead for Envision Recordings?
After a lot of hard work since the first year, we have made Envision Recordings a really good competitor among other EDM labels in the industry. Summer of 2016 will be Envision‘s summer. I just want to say, stay tuned.
Kivrak gave a lot of good insight today and as always, he gives the chance to showcase talent from rising artists, producers, and vocalists. This new episode is a collection of some of the best tracks submitted as demo’s for Envision Recordings official show.
