Ask me what my favorite genres are, and 100% of the time, no questions asked, future bass will not be on my list; but, every once in awhile, there’s a little gem that shines through to me, beckoning me to fall into its world. I couldn’t say exactly what entices me about these little gems, but whatever it is, Elliot Berger nailed it with his remix of Julian Gray’s “Run”. I’ve always fallen in love with pieces featuring a touch of beauty, and the opening is the pinnacle of that emotion. From the perfectly layered pads to Laura Hyre’s angelic voice, what was originally a fantastic progressive house track has turned into something a little different. The drop is impactful, but sweet, keeping closely knit to the original track while becoming an entirely new entity with different emotions completely. I may not listen to a lot of future bass right now; but if there are a few more songs like this out there, you might see a few new playlists from me.
