Next up on Rising Talent is Renaldo Furnell, a South Africa-based DJ/Producer, who specializes in the likes of deep house. With Furnell’s remix of “Crooked Colours” by In Your Bones though, something is much different than typical deep house. With creepy and slightly off-beat sounds, along with a deep bass and an unnerving atmosphere, the song starts off with detuned plucks and bouncy yet foreboding bass to set the mood. It follows with funky and deep drums, with many shifting sounds and odd timing. This all compliments the song though, along with droning and distant vocals blended with a slew of subtle yet glitchy sounds. A both chill yet clubby sound, Furnell does a lot different with this track.
I would do nothing but recommend this track, by far one of the best tracks I’ve recently listened to. With sounds calling back to the likes of IF Space Invaders, this glitchy, out-of-place yet lovable remix is sure to stand out to your ears.
