Next up on Rising Talent is Mr.Mala, an Italy-based DJ/Producer. His sound design truly defines him, with unique blends of multiple genres. In his newer release, “DolDrum,” his weird awesomeness is truly exemplified. He mixes typical sounds from both progressive/big room house, and fuses it with the half-tempo and drum-heavy sounds of trap. If you are caught up in history class, you’d know that most of these genres stem from blues and hip-hop genres, so the combination is not as weird as you’d think (although it’d be disgraceful to not call it odd and unique). Although I typically can describe and break down songs, “DolDrum” is so utterly different it’s sort of foolish to try and comprehend the blend of sounds. From very trap-inspired drums and house-inspired beat progression, this song takes you all over the place, yet keeps a surprisingly tight control over the feel of the track.
From crazy track breakdowns to big room styled drops, this song is a delight to any EDM lover’s ear. A solid recommendation to anybody, you can listen to Mr.Mala’s “DolDrum” below, or click here to go to his SoundCloud.
