Jerin James, LA based producer, who is no stranger to the music scene with write ups on famous dance music blogs such as Dancing Astronaut & EDM Joy, massive YouTube uploads on xKito and Variety, and releases on various big labels such as Pantheon, Hegemon, Otodayo Ruki, and EDM.com totaling tens of millions of streams, storms back into the spotlight with another detailed, eloquent opus of dance and story called “Trials of Eros.”
In speaking on the creative process Jerin said:
The track elegantly details a story of attraction based on Eros alone – meaning the attraction to this person is only physical. It begins, as Eros does, with a graceful, hovering melody, and deep bass and declarative drums.
Suddenly, a stop occurs with a pluck of strings. Doubt settles in. Confusion starts, questions continue to rise, and the stress and tension continues to build upon itself. Strings continue to rise and turn out to be louder, as well as bass and drums that each one ultimately cascade into a complete cease – and the track is over. As with all relationships based on Eros alone, the story involves an abrupt, sudden, and frustrating end – without closure. Once again, Jerin James has not solely woven a tapestry of succint sound design and powerful, danceable beats, but he has also told a believable story in doing so.
Trials of Eros is another masterly addition to Jerin’s rapidly growing catalogue of some of the finest dance music to hit the scene in years, and we look forward to the next masterpieces he has in store.
