It’s The Ship Wraps 4th Annual Edition!

IT’S THE SHIP 2017 Wrap Up – Asia’s largest festival at sea IT’S THE SHIP, has drawn the curtain on what was its most successful year to date, with 4,000 shipmates in attendance, energetic performances from over 80 artists on-board, as well as a host of unique side activities, that included everything imaginable, from a morning yoga session with Tigerlily to soccer with the Playboy Thailand bunnies.

Moving to the newly-made Genting Dream cruise ship, which was captained by none other than Tyson Beckford, the 2017 edition stretched across four days. With ticket sales skyrocketing, festival goers came not just from Asia, but from across 88 different countries, with Australia, USA and Germany scoring in the top ticket sales alongside the local markets of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Japan.

IT’S THE SHIP has been growing year upon year, with organisers, Livescape Group continually securing one of the most eclectic line-ups anywhere in Asia. This year’s festival was no exception, raising the bar even higher with the level of topflight talent from around the world. Headline performances from EDM power duos Krewella and Yellow Claw lit up the Crown stage on Friday and Sunday nights, with other crowd favourites like Peking Duk, DJ Craze, Third Party and Tigerlily rocking the boat until sunrise.

Regional talent was also widely represented, with Livescape proving once again that promoting South East Asian artists to the world is high on their agenda with acts like Bangkok Invaders, Joe Flizzow and Shigga Shay flying the flag for Thai, Malaysia and Singapore.

IT’S THE SHIP has always offered more than just the music and this year was no different, with side activities ranging from mini-golf to rope course, as well as two shows from legendary male strip troupe The Chippendales.

With a stop-off in Phuket, Thailand, crew members had the chance to party on dry land at the Kudo Beach club and partake in beer yoga before getting back on the ship for the return leg to Singapore, with over 1700 shipmates disembarking.

To cap off what was already an incredible weekend at sea, IT’S THE SHIP also saw a couple get engaged on the Saturday night and six shipmates who have already secured their places at the 2018 IT’S THE SHIP sailing by getting their very own IT’S THE SHIP logo tattooed on them.
