Rui – ‘Feel Alright‘ – Rui is no stranger to Afrojack‘s formidable WALL Recordings label, having released the stunning vocal anthem ‘Million Times‘ with Sam Ashworth last year to great acclaim and providing a top remix for Fais and Afrojack‘s ‘Used to Have it All.’ Now he returns to the label for his latest dancefloor workout.
‘Feel Alright‘ is one of those vocal house tracks made for those ecstatic feel-good moments. Centering around a rubbery bassline and hip-shaking beats, it’s powered by a triumphant vocal that recalls classic US house and garage. Breathy atmospheric pads create a subtle mood, while sustained bass notes deck out the breakdowns. Big piano chords top things off to send the track into overdrive, and the quality of the vocal means this one’s going to be as at home on the radio as it is on the dancefloor.
Born in Portugal, Rui was influenced by the likes of Fleetwood Mac growing up and you can clearly hear that pop sensibility in his infectious music. With the full support of Afrojack and the WALL family behind him, he looks destined for big things.
